Fremont-Mills 43 EHK 12

Mason Vanatta rushed for 138 yards on five carries to pace Fremont-MIlls to an easy 43-12 win over Elk Horn-Kimballton in district seven action Friday.  Baring any huge upsets, the win all but assures F-M the second place spot in the district.

Jaeger Powers rushed for 149 yards for F-M who improves to 5-2 on the season.  Andrew Hontz led the defense with 10 tackles.  The Knights will host Woodbine next Friday night.

East Mills 36 Essex 6

Chris Darnold and Trevor Glockel each had two rushing touchdowns for East Mills in a 36-6 District seven win over Essex.

Dylan Schroeder intercepted two passes for the Wolverines who picked up their second win of the season.  EM will host Academy next Friday.

Sidney 56 Woodbine 22

The Cowboys all but assured themselves the district title with a convincing 56-22 win in always tough Woodbine.  The Cowboys improve to 7-0 and keep a 12 game win streak intact.

The Cowboys play Essex Friday night.

CAM 72 Clarinda Academy 22

Injury riddled CAM kept its slim playoff hopes alive with a 72-22 win over Academy Friday.  The Cougars will need to win out against Elk Horn-Kimballton and Fremont-Mills, and also hope for a Woodbine upset of F-M this Friday night.  The Cougars are now 5-3 on the season.  Academy drops to 2-5

Stanton 56 Lenox 30

The Vikings shook the money off their back with a 56-30 win over Lenox Friday.  Keygan Day fired four touchdown passes for Stanton who had not beaten the Tigers since 2011.

The win sets up a winner take all showdown with Bedford in two weeks as the Vikings have an open week this coming Friday.  The winner of that game will be the district champion, regardless of what happens Friday night in the Lenox/Bedford game.

Bedford 28 East Union 8

The Bulldogs remained perfect in district six play and improved to 5-2 on the season.  Bedford will play Leniox Friday.
